Ukrainian Easter Eggs and beyond...
Our Latest Class
Date/Time: Saturday March 24th
Class Description In this workshop you will learn how to decorate eggs using a wax resist method, similar to batik. Wax is applied to the egg using a stylus called a kistka or with other tools. After each layer of wax is applied, the egg is dyed with progressively darker colors. When the wax is finally melted off the egg, you will end up with a beautiful multi-colored egg! Traditional Ukrainian and Lithuanian techniques will be taught, but you will also be encouraged to experiment with your own designs. Each participant will be able to create 1-2 eggs during the class, and will go home with instructions and their own kistka.
