Last night Jill Barry was at the Guild working on one of her newest glass creations and demonstration how1 she works. She is doing a custom piece for a very young client, Sahara.
Sahara drew this template and it when it is done it will hang up in her room. Jill used her original handwriting to draw it onto the surface of the wood and use as a guild. Her client wants tons of color, mountains and roses placed all over the piece. It will be a fun piece.
A wonderful thing about this demo is we were able to ask her questions about her technique, how she cuts glass, files and glues, where she gets her material and inspiration. She is self taught and has been making these creations for about four years.
One of Jill's Pieces in the Guild. Very tactile and colorful. To see more of her work stop by the Guild.
