Members: $75 • Non-Members: $85

Materials: $30 due to the instructor at class.

Join artist Marietta Apollonio for a beginner Relief Printing class. Relief printing involves carving a design into the surface of a block, keeping in mind which areas of the block will print onto paper. The printing parts remain level with the surface, while the non-printing parts (what will not print on the paper) are removed. The surface is covered with ink by rolling over the raised portions of the block with an ink-covered roller (brayer). We will be using the block printing technique (like stamping) for transferring your creation to paper. In this class you will have one small practice carving block and one larger block to create your final piece. Instructor: Marietta Apollonio, Dedham Square Artist Guild
