Pop … of Color

Pop …. of color (bright blue)

This is Lisa Walker's Entry to the Show POP!

Using 3 glazes, the criss cross effect makes 6 colors. I like to finish the composition with a dot of the final color on the exterior and a line of color on the rim to really make it “pop”!
This bowl was inspired by a visit to Cazenovia in Upstate New York and a family stay by the lake.
This bowl is entitled “By the Lake” and priced at $58. The bowl holds 10 1/2 cups and is dishwasher and microwave safe.

There is still time to Enter. Link Here

Sunday Show for Annie B. Creations at the Guild

Join us on from 11am to 3pm for a trunk show featuring artist Annie Becker, owner of Annie B. Creations.

Stop by and see upcycled Scarves Purses and more... Annie uses vintage kimonos to make her creations

As a lifelong seamstress I have found years of pleasure in creating a wide variety of items from Amish style baby quilts to purses made from vintage Japanese kimono fabrics. Whether it’s finding a new fabric to buy and store away until just the right project comes along or it’s designing the smallest details of how a flower girls dress will flow as she walks down the aisle, I have always found joy in whatever type of sewing project I am currently working on. Most recently I’ve been very excited by vintage fabrics and styles, and by finding new ways to re-purpose vintage materials. The whimsy of American fabrics from the mid 20th century has been great inspiration for my original design aprons that are both fun and functional. I have also enjoy re-purposing gorgeous and elegant vintage Japanese kimono fabric into purses, shibori scarves, and other items. These beautiful vintage Japanese fabrics from obi, kimono and yukata are the most elaborately woven and dyed silks I have ever seen! They are a pleasure to work with. — Annie Becker

Friday Trunk Show: Jewelry Artist, Lillian Graham at the Dedham Guild

Join us Friday December 13th from 3pm to 6pm for a trunk show featuring Lillian Graham.

Lillian Graham's jewelry making began at a very early age. From friendly plastic, hemp necklaces, and beading shes done it all. It wasn't until after graduating college with a degree in fine art and photography, that she took her jewelry making more seriously. It started from a simple idea as to what could she do with all of her grandmothers old tins, a pair of tin snips, and Memory Relics was born. Since then she has continued to grow her business, sells her jewelry in stores across New England, and actively sells in person at craft fairs. She loves her art, family, and never misses an opportunity to take something old and turn it into something new.

See you Friday

December Artist of the Month opening Reception

Join us on Thursday December 5th for an opening reception from 6pm to 8pm featuring our Artists of the Month, fabric artist, Iris Sonnenschein and jewelry artist, Barbara Trainer.

"I find inspiration in nature, music and works of art, and I love combining textures and colors to evoke a general sense of place, as opposed to one particular object. The idea of creating a piece of art that can be touched, and can reflect a mood or a moment, feeds my creative energies; working with clients to create art that speaks uniquely to them, feeds my spirit." — Iris Sonnenschein, fabric

"Barbara Trainer, a co-owner of Beadcraft Etc., is a jewelry designer, whose inspirations come from many sources--organic, natural or light catching materials, eclectic shapes, combinations and colors. Her jewelry designs are created with quirky & unusual components in sterling, copper, gold-filled & silver-plated metals, hand-blown glass, imported stones and beads. The elements are combined in many different ways so each piece is fresh, unique & striking. The styles run from vintage to retro, classic to contemporary. Educated at the Landscape Institute, her profession as a Certified Massachusetts Landscape Designer creating gardens, which vary in texture, light, color & shape, led her five years ago to exploring jewelry design. As a member of the Dedham Square Artists Guild and a participant in regional Massachusetts arts venues, she has become an active member of the artists communities around the Massachusetts area." — Barbara Trainer, jewelry
