You are invited to Chris Roberts show at the Dedham Guild this Sunday 12-4pm

Join us Sunday December 4th for a trunk show featuring artist Chris Roberts.

12-4pm at the Dedham Square Artist Guild

Chris Roberts recently moved to Hyde Park and even more recently, retired from a long career as a dental hygienist, which now allows her more time to pursue art. Her primary medium is watercolor, but pastels and calligraphy are close behind. Nature is her inspiration and with her camera ever present, there is always something she wants to draw or paint or write. Chris is a past President of Masscribes, the local Boston calligraphy guild, and a current member of the Hyde Park and West Roxbury Art Associations. She served on the Board of Roslindale’s Open Studios with her earlier residence in that community. A mother of one, and beloved Nana to two, life is better with art as a means of expression. Her work is currently being shown at the Roslindale shop,
Birch Street House and Garden.

Small Business Saturday, Meet Jewelry artist Claire Kincaid! 1-5pm

Join us this Saturday, November, 26th, 1-5pm
for a show featuring artist, CLAIRE KINCAID
of a Wired Aesthetic

See Claire Kincaid’s handcrafted wire Jewelry at
this unique trunk show

Shop for your loved ones or yourself and meet the creator of these beautiful jewelry pieces

From the Artist
Claire Kincaid
Jeweler, Maker, Engineer

I started creating in the fourth grade, when my passion for both art and hands on engineering and science lead me to the constantly evolving world of jewelry and precious stones. Since then, I have explored many different avenues of creation and fallen in love with the world of metal and wire. I create custom jewelry and sculptures from wire using a variety of metal working techniques. I also mine and cut my own gemstones, allowing me to be even more involved in the design of a piece from its inception. When I'm not in the workshop, I'm studying mechanical engineering at Olin College in Needham, MA. I recently joined the artisan's community of Somerville, and currently work out of Artisan's Asylum, developing my skills and forming deeper connections with the community. I enjoy working closely with people to solve problems and create new, awesome things.

Small Business Saturday is coming up

This year Small Business Saturday will take place on Nov. 26, 2016

Small Business Saturday always takes place on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving Day, which is Nov. 26 this year. This means it takes place directly after Black Friday. The idea behind Small Business Saturday is that customers can support local businesses by shopping at them. This makes it the opposite of Black Friday, which focuses on large retailers.

The first-ever Small Business Saturday took place on Nov 27th, 2010.
It encouraged people across the country to support small, local businesses.

Support the Dedham Square Artist Guild and other local businesses.
Keep your neighborhood shops vibrant

You must register your card, Now thru 12/31, you could earn 2X rewards when you

About the Artist

“As an artist, I am trying to capture the spirit of my subject by reducing details and concentrating on light and shape. My paintings are rich in color and bold in brushwork. I am inspired by nature’s beauty and the chance to interpret it in simple, yet compelling ways.”

Sue Hoy is a painter, graphic designer and art teacher living in Milton MA. Her inspiration comes from her family and the endless beauty of New England. Choosing subjects that capture attention and emotion, Sue strives to simplify shape and color to reflect the essence of her subject. Her voyage toward simplicity, versus over-working and illustrating with paint, is ongoing. Her paintings have been in numerous shows in Massachusetts and she currently has a solo show at Abby Park in Milton, MA. She teaches painting and clay classes for children in the Milton public schools and at Milton Art Center.
