About the Artists
Barbara Reynolds – Dedham, MA
“I have always been fascinated by rocks, trees, and skies. Capturing light and color are challenges that keep me engrossed in the process of painting. Seeing a watercolor scene appear before me is a thrill. I want my paintings to provide the viewer with emotion, a feeling of place and time, a sense of intimacy and serenity.”

One of my favorite places to paint is Star Island, in the Isles of Shoals off Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I am indebted to that place for inspiring my love of painting.

Joan Onofrey – Needham, MA
Collages have always intrigued me, especially those created of paper. There is a freedom and energy involved with the process of tearing and cutting the paper into shapes. The images created by layering these pieces of paper have the spontaneity of their own. The patterns, textures and colors combined with torn edges of paper brings lively way of focusing my ideas in my artwork.

As a collage artist, I am often inspired by the children I teach and by my observations of nature. Themes such as animals, plants, landscapes and sports come to life with bits of recycled and repurposed paper, along with a whimsical point of view.

The Dedham Art Association is a nonprofit organization with a commitment to enriching our community through art. The Association has a rich history and continues to grow. We offer art demonstrations and workshops by professional artists that are educational and highlight diverse media and techniques. Our meetings are held at the Endicott Estate in Dedham.

Guild Member news, Artist Winners of the Arts Affair Marina Bay

The 22nd Art Show of ArtsAffair at Marina Bay
took place in Quincy on
Saturday, August 5, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Sunday, August 6, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

the Arts Affair at Marina Bay is a two-day exhibition that introduces you to the talents of artists, sculptors, and photographers who live and work in many South Shore and Boston communities.

More about the show
What began as one man's vision to bring attention to the local art scene, is now an annual venue for artists, collectors, and art patrons. William E. Beyer, a renowned watercolor artist himself, saw the need to create an opportunity for artists to convene as an all-inclusive exhibit of the many art groups from the South Shore. It was also his plan to bring public awareness to the talented artists living and creating among us. That was 22 years ago when the event was held on the boardwalk, with paintings tied to the railings.
